Luxor Adventures is now back on MumboJumbo. Hopefully they'll keep it there this time. It comes with Luxor 3 as a free bonus game! How great is that? Try it out.

Luxor 3 Fails in Windows 7 64-bit with Assertion Error

When trying to run Luxor 3 under Windows 7 64-bit, I get an assertion error. Screen capture attached. I've tried running luxor3.exe in Windows XP mode without success.

Take elevator #1 to the library. Read the book in thedisplay case. Then go to the bookcase. Look at it, you will find a scrolol that teaches you to move things with your mind. Go back to the floor and use the spell to lower elevator # 3. ride it up and talk to the dragon.

Luxor 4 "Impossible Level" Bug ? :)

Hi all,

I've been playing Luxor4 for a while now (I've played the trials of earlier ones and the whole of Luxor 3). I'm an average player. However, I got stuck on a "Midnight Weavings" level on Luxor 4. I think I am playing on Easy or Medium. Anyway, I could not finish the level -- I played for over 6 hours, redoing the level again and again, and I could not finish it. A few times I came really close. In comparison to all the other levels I've played in Luxor4, this was MUCH more difficult!

Has anybody else experienced this? I'm sure I'm not SUCH a bad player that I cannot get past a level on Easy or Medium in over 6 hours!

I noticed that if you exit the game and then load it up again, the levels you get are not the same, so I managed to play on anyway.

Ignore that post for now. For some reason the game disappeared last night. I'm guessing it will come back to mumbojumbo on the actual release date. Maybe some changes had to be made, but it's best they do that to make sure there are no bugs in the game. Can't wait for Luxor adventures to return!

Hello everyone! Glad I caught your attention. I have some exciting news! Luxor Adventures is out on mumbojumbo right now for trial and for purchase!!! I can't believe it's really out now. I thought December 1st. Anyway, you may not see it on the home page, but if you click on "all games" you will be able to find it on the list. If you're anxious for this game right now, go play it, you'll love it. I started this post to give you a great update plus I'd like to hear from you guys. Tell me how excited you are that Luxor's out and/or give me your comments about the game after you played a little bit of it. Hope to hear from you all. Again, great game!

Well it looks like the best of both worlds for me. I love hide and seeks and I love Luxor! I just hope it doesn't kill it with not enough of the actual Luxor games in it. If it has Luxor in the name then it should have at least 50% Luxor games and 50% hidden object. Can't wait for Xmas! Gonna have to put it on list for something hubby can get me. lol!!

It's mainly dependant on the portal, and if they want to carry the game or not. If Yahoo Games doesn't have it, it's because they chose not to host it.

So in other words QFAL was rushed into production, whereas Lux 3 was not...and it shows in gameplay...

Really you seem to have lost something with Lux 3 and QFAL, from a gamers perspective. Although the graphics and gameplay are superb, i keep going back to Luxor 2 as a basic diet, because ...its possible to lose...it has great stats...every level even tells you how many wins or loses. I wanna know how many spheres i have destroyed in my career!!!

Seriously, something is really lost in a game where u can restart a level endlessly...whats the point when it doesn't even record your high scores? Play a few times and beat it and so?... its all about beating your own best effort.

Matter of fact i intalled a trial of QFAL and went, nah, uninstalled it...it wiped out all my game data from Luxor 2...100's of hours!!!...i was irate. Obviously you developers have not thought this out and , yes, pump out a new title every 6 months is great in a business sense , for the masses, but to me Luxor spells quality. Luxor Mahjong is a great offshoot i love but i just keep going back to Luxor 2, although a bit graphicialy outdated and wish you could produce a newer game with updated graphics...and keep it simple.

Perhaps the game writers should spend a day playing all these games and theres no doubt for sheer pleasure from a gamers perpective Luxor 2 would be the ideal.... a classic game... you only need one.

Update 2: just found out on another site: the new luxor will be released on tuesday december 1st of this year. Sometimes, mumbojumbo will put a game on their site the day after the release date. When Luxor 4 came out last year, it was available on my computer for download on a Wednesday instead of Tuesday. I don't know if anyone else experienced that. Anyway, I can't wait any longer for the game to come out! Who's extremely anxious out there?!

I posted all of this so you know what you can possibly expect, but it shouldn't come out any later to mj than dec. 1st or 2nd.

Luxor 3 doesn't have any patches available. This one went through extensive testing, and is very solid, so there hasn't been any need to update it.

It sounds like you have an early version of the game. Even though you bought it this month, that doesn't necessarily mean Yahoo has updated their copy.

I just downloaded this game from Yahoo in early Sept/09 so it must be patched by now... i have 3 jars and keep going between Hotan and T...doing battle with Thutmoose...?...winning but not recieving the final jar...seems to just run in endless circles and drives me nuts.

My question is as developers why do you release such a complex game scenerio without fully testing it and it needing patching?....don't you have testers?

Well, I do not have any screen shots, but I will tell you a little bit about what I know of the game so far:
Note: DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU DON"T WANT TO BE SPOILED!
This new Luxor has a bunch of different games. The regular game mode is a hidden object game (Surprised?). There are hints. It also has mini games of spot the difference, putting puzzle pieces together, and match-3 (like 7-wonders). But don't think that the classic Luxor is not in this game. It is. In each hidden object scene, there are two orbs/balls you have to find. After you found one orb of each color, an artifact is unlocked. Each artifact is a regular marble-shooting scene that you can play. Everything is the same with powerups every third match except it is more like a bonus level (I think) which means it wouldn't matter if the balls went into the pyramid. You also have to find two anhk coins in every scene. Find 50 or more and 2 more game modes (Bonus and Match-3) are unlocked. That is all I know for now. This is only the beta version. Things could change, but so far the game is fantastic!

Update: Hello everyone. I have some great news. A new Luxor is being developed and has been put into beta. It is called Luxor Adventures. I played the whole trial version and it is excellent! I am not quite sure when it is going to be released yet. The only thing that I am going to tell you now is that it is not the same as all the other Luxors. I know that doesn't help anyone too much but if anyone is anxious to hear more about it, post a reply here. Otherwise, I do not want to spoil anybody and tell you everything.

Lux 3 is my fav for general gameplay , akin to gameplay simplicity of Lux2 but deeper graphics and a store. Have no prob with the great artwork in 3 or QFAL and want even more detail. The fire or bright lights become a memory challenge, if you view it that way, adding difficulty.

That center thingie protruding onto board bottom really has to go as it obscures next ball.

As mentioned in another post, once you buy the store theres no more use for ank coins. In Lux 2 u earned more lives and could lose the game which to me was more useful as a gamer. A thought is, why can't we do both?

Go back to Lux2 ank concept plus use excess to expand powerups. It may take much longer but anybody who owns this on a given player name will eventually attain all items...make it tougher...

Some new powerups be nice too, like a wipe board similar to sandstorm but awarded after maybe 20 combos. Try as i might i cannot see any use at all for the colour replacer, its useless.

On Lux 3 the end level bonus session ( treasure hunt?) is great but not avaliable to practice in free play...thats so good it could be a mini game and if you have looked at plants vrs zombies mini games, something in that format would be a great addon to Luxor.

Is there any further info for a due date for Luxor 5?

Supposing Lux 4 is the afterlife i find the center button most annoying as often it hides the next ball on the launcher.

The game is also too complex via story and narrative. Keep it simple as in Luxor 3, my fav so far. Some sore points on Lux 3 are... stats don't include total spheres destroyed... high score per name is not included .... once you attain everything in the store theres really no point in collecting ank coins other than keeping the catch average up ... you cannot lose as in Luxor 2...losing is good.

Would be nice to have a more extensive store or some transitional use for the coins like buying hidden levels or super weapons....anyway i want Luxor 5 tommorrow :)
