Samantha Swift/Roses of Athena - BUG

I got this game as a gift and have been enjoying it a lot. Now I'm trying to rescue Dr Butler. I've put all of the roses in the respective tubes, put the scarf in the Japan tube and the lasers are still there! So now I'm trapped in that room, no hints left, and there's nothing I can do! I have the shield left and I found where it goes but I get the message "You can use this tool here later".

What do I do now?

Hi redandra.

There is a dumb waiter shaft opening on the back wall where Dr. Butler is hidden...kind of looks like an elevator door. With the shield selected, place it in front of the door to block the laser beams, and this should open the door, freeing Dr. Butler.

I am stuck on the part of the maze...I got at least five or so of the items....but when trying to spell king arthur....got only as far as king...and the a on arthur....everytime I try to go bck and try to restart the maze...I get stuck again, is there a trick to knowing which direction to head??

If you've found the A, there's no need to go back. Just look for the R, then T, then H, and so on.
