Hi all, I just purchased the Luxor complete pack from Steam, and the very first version of Luxor isn't loading, the others are fine, but I love the first one the most. It brings me to the first screen, says loading, then says click to play. When I click it, it just boots me back to the desktop though.

I then tried my other computer and it didn't work either.

Since this game was never tested in Windows Vista, there are a few work-arounds we've found that work most of the time. Although, as it was released before the debut of Windows Vista and there are no patches available, we cannot fully guarantee its complete functionality.

1. Try running the program as "Administrator", even though you may be set as Administrator on the computer. Right click the game icon, then click "Run as Administrator".

2. Try running the game in compatibility mode. This can be accessed by right clicking on the game icon, going to properties, then selecting the Compatibility tab. Here, you can select the box that reads "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" then choose XP SP2, or others.

3. Uninstall all versions of the game, then reinstall. Except, when the game is finished installing, uncheck the box that reads "Play (your game) Now" and close the installer. Once it's closed, try running it from the icon on the desktop using one of the methods above.

We know how frustrating it can be. This game was developed before Vista was released, so we’re hoping that these will work for you.

Thanks for the fast answer :)

You can't run a game from Steam as administrator ... an you can't run the Steam-version of Luxor without Steam ... that's bad ...

But there is a way to get Luxor running with Vista:
Disabling the user access control did the trick for me :)
