I am having a problem with trying to get past Level 11 on Luxor 3 on the WII. I am now on my second game disc, and still having the same problem. It just locks up and has a high pitch humming noise. Any suggestions?

I am having the same problem. I sent an email to Mumbo Jumbo, and they say that after the bonus on stage 11 all the other games will then be unlocked. I don't know if that is true because I have already sent the game back to them. They will more than likely send the games back to me, and say it is not defective. I feel that after spending $29.99 for the game I am not satisfied with their attitude of not wanting to FIX the problem.

I am having the exact same problem! I've gotten the high pitch humming noise along with the lock up on Level 11 of Luxor 3 on the Wii. I emailed Mumbo Jumbo and was also reassured that everything would be unlocked even if the highest level wasn't achieved---it wasn't. I even started over as another player and the exact same thing happened when I reached the top level.

After the second time through, the game won't even load on my Wii. I just get a black screen when I click to start the game (all my other games work fine). I've even pulled the power plug and let it reset. I don't know what to do at this point. I'm very disappointed. It sounds like the game (which I believe was released in December, 2008) was put on the market for Christmas too soon. I have not sent back my game, but I've thought about it. I didn't know if they would do anything.

I would welcome any advice from anyone if you've figured out what to do. I love playing the game!

I have received my Luxor 3 for Wii, back of Mumbo Jumbo last week. It still locks up at Stage 11 in the adventure mode but the free play and puzzle mode are now unlocked and it is working fine so far. They could not or would not fix the original glitch, which I am still unhappy about, but at least the game works.

I am having the same issue on Luxor 3 but I have completed the bonus stage on level 11, I return to the pyramid screen and it freezes. I have to turn off the game by holding down the power button to get out. I too am very frustrated. This seems like very poor customer service.

We are working with Nintendo about this issue, and should have a solution ready soon.

The minute we have an answer that addresses this, we will post it here.

I have also purchased Luxor 3, and The Quest for the afterlife. I like playing both games, but!!! with Quest for the Afterlife I just got tired of it freezing my computer up, so I went and bought Luxor 3. I like this one too. I have gone past and built the pyramid. Now I am playing the puzzles. I need help with puzzle 1-24. How do you beat this one. I keep ending up with two spheres, and it doesn't matter what color because I have tried every way to work it. It doesn't work. Any answers out there?

Duck - Please check your Vista Game Explorer. Luxor 3 should be in there.

I'm really getting frustrated with Luxor 3 for the Wii. They admit there is a glitch, keep selling it even though you can't finish. I can't figure out how everyone unlocks everything and all I get to do is play up to 11-5, unplug and start over. NOT FUN. I can't believe more people aren't mad about this and letting them get away with it. I know I'm very upset about it and all they say is fix coming soon.

I also think this poor planning and not much fixing going on with this issue. It doesn't seem that they care much about how many people are un happy. I am no looking at who puts out the game. No more of my money will go to them until they fix what they broke.

I spoke with them today and they say that they and Nintendo are working on the problem. Yes, it does suck that you can;t finish. I just can't wait till they figure out the problem and send out the new ones. hopefully if will not take to long. I was told they it will be replaced for free just send in your copy and they will send a new one. Hopefully they will follow thru.

Do not waste your money on this game if you have an Intel Mac and use anywhere neat a current operating system.
Check some other forums to read about the "freezing" problems are having.
    DO NOT BUY THIS ONE!

Can you describe your problem in a bit more detail? I am unaware of a freezing/crashing problem for LUXOR 3 Mac.

    reinspruch,

Somewhere between launch and playing the game for a few minutes (this freezing point varies), my screen turns black (music stop[s a few seconds later) and my computer becomes totally unresponsive to any keyboard commands. I must then shut down my computer with the power button and restart. I personally know others who are experiencing the same problem and there are forums where this problem has been discussed (Luxor 2 also was sited as producing the same or similar problem). I use an Intel Mac Dual core 2.66 with 2GB RAM. OS 10.5.7. It would be nice if there were a patch available. I've played Luxor on G4 and G5 Macs and loved them - I'v very disappointed with the performance on the Intel machine.

here is one forum where the problem (Luxor 2) is discussed:

Just to clarify, are you having trouble with Luxor 3 for OS X or Luxor 2 for OS X?

Another quick question--where did you download the game from?

    Thanks!

    It was a MacUpdatePromo purchase.
I believe the game came from MacGameFiles.com

    @11111

Last question--what is the version number of the game? It is possible that MacGameFiles did not have the most recent version.

I believe it was version 3.1.0.2
  3.

    1.  When the game is completely loaded, hit control-shift-tilde (`) to bring up the console.  At the very bottom of the screen, it should provide white text on a blue background and state which version it is.  Can you retrieve this string for me.
    2.  When the game starts up, switch the settings to windowed mode.  This will make it easier to force-quit the program if it crashes.
    3.  Open up Console.app (/Applications/Utilities/Console.app).  Luxor 3 will output a bunch of console information to the console (Make sure "Console Messages" is selected in the list located on the left portion of the window).   If/when the game crashes, if you can go to Console.app and choose File -> Save a Copy As..., and email the Console Messages.log file that it saves out.  I may be able to discern something further from this info.

    Josh,

Bringing up the console [control-shift-tilde (`)], I found the version to be 1.0.2 (Build #6).
I switched to the "windowed mode" and while I was viewing the console information, Luxor 3 reverted to the full screen mode and shortly after crashed (my screen went black).
So, I am unable to save the console information log using Step 3 in your post since the program reverts to full screen and crashes my computer before I can do this. And since it reverts to the full screen mode on it's own, I am unable to do anything but shut down my Mac by any method other than using the power switch. The console info is not available to me after the crash.

I think this reversion to full screen and possible change in resolution may bring on the crash???

Please help, I am having trouble completing level 11-5 on Luxor 3 Wii. I have noticed that the music stops playing for a brief time once you begin the level. Please advise if this is part of the problems that are mentioned above, or is there some way to complete the level.

Thanks so much for your advise.

    jessoverman.
I never got to that level.
I had so much trouble with Luxor3 freezing that I gave up all together. I wish I had never bought it even though it has beautiful graphics and when it works, it is really great.

Wish I could be more help.

Thanks, 11111 for your input. However, I completed level 11-5, 11-6, 11-7, and couple of the bonus rounds, however when I completed the bonus level, and the game was going back to my pyrimid, the game froze and the buzzing began. I am assuming that is as far as you can go, because I tried to restart the system and it did the same thing. So as far as I am concerned I have completed it as far as it will let me.

WOW, Glad to see we are not the only ones.

My wife is experiencing exactly the same issue. Once she clears that level, the Wii hangs.

Lets make matters a little worse. It also does not allow her to start another game through. (She completed hard, and wanted to do insane) Once she quit out of playing (After playing for a couple of hours) when she went back in later all of her progress was gone.

OK, I know what you think. She whacked the power while it was saving. Nope. This I know because the first time this happened to her, thats what I told her. She has been extremely careful not to do that again, and I happened to be sitting here when she closed out.

There are major bugs in the game. It appears to me that MJ is aware of the issue, yet have still continued to develop more games without fixing this one.

I for one will not purchase another MJ product until such time as they remedy the mistakes they have already made. BTW, one of the reason my wife purchased the WII was because of Luxor.

    Thanks
    Glenn

I am able to delete and start a new game I went as far as the game would allow on the easy level and then I started a new game and began on the next level, I am only on stage 9, so we will see how far I can get. I am with your wife, one of the reason I purchased the WII is because of the Luxor. Have you guys purchased any of the other Luxor games and if you have is there any problems with them?

    Thanks,

    jessoverman
