Spumat,
This happens when Vista doesn't get rid of the old shortcut (which happens a lot) and you're playing the game from the old shortcut rather than the new one. If you're starting the game from the shortcut that reads "Luxor - Quest For The Afterlife" on either your desktop or your start menu, you shouldn't have this problem. If you're starting the game from the shortcut named "Play", then that is what is likely causing your issue. The problem is that the old shortcut is pointing to a "Luxor4.exe" which will not work. The new shortcut points to "LuxorQuestForTheAfterlife.exe" which will work for you. Your best bet is to simply delete the shortcut named "Play" and run the game from the shortcut with the game's name.
If all else fails, simply go to the install directory, which on your machine is Local Disk > Program Files > MumboJumbo > Luxor - Quest For the Afterlife. Then from there, right click LuxorQuestForTheAfterlife.exe and create a shortcut. You can then take this shortcut and place it anywhere you like for easier access, such as the desktop.
Let us know if this helps.

Hello. Thanks for all of the input and the great screenshots. Any details you could provide that lead up to these situations is always appreciated. Here are some comments/questions by problem number:
1. We had this bug come up once during testing but could never repeat it. Are you saying that this occured after the game displayed the "New Item Unlocked" message?
2. A few people have reported similar situations...again, I can't ever get it to happen which makes it hard to track down...but this is one I am definitely working on. Is your game still stuck there? Can you send a screenshot of the campaign map?
3. This particular circumstance came up during testing but I thought it had been corrected. I'm curious...do you recall in this battle if it had gone for a long time (with a lot of back and forth between you and the AI)?
4. Powerups are different for different types of game play, so I'm pretty sure this is by design.
Thanks for your help.

When you lost the battle, the game should have kept taking you back to that battle to allow you to try over and over again.
So, did the game give you another chance to play that battle? If not, can you recall what did happen?
Thanks so much for your time and patience...this information is very helpful.

The current release was intended to solve all of the canopic jar and prophet issues. It goes without saying that you should obtain the most current version possible. That said, there are still some mysterious issues I am trying to track down, and I always welcome any reports of things that don't seem to work right.

Good news. I have just recieved clearance to pursue fixing as many of the Luxor: QFTA bugs as possible that related to canopic jars and theives.
You can help!
If you are experiencing any of the folloing problems:
The send me your profile. The profile on Windows XP is saved under: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\MumboJumbo\Luxor - Quest For The Afterlife/Profiles
I'm not sure of the exact path for Vista.
In the Profiles folder you will see a .prf file for each profile. Send me the profile that is having the problem. Also, please include a description of the particular situation you are experiencing. These profiles will be very helpful in helping me figure out the problem.
Send an information directly to: rmadsen@mumbojumbo.com
Thanks.

Great news everyone. I am currently working on fixing the thief/canopic jar/sun disc issues in Luxor: Quest for the Afterlife. My guess is that a new build will be distributed early in April on the MumboJumbo website and also be distributed to all of our online partners. Stay tuned.

For those of you that did not see the update, you can download it here: http://forum.mumbojumbo.com/downloads/LuxorUpdate.exe . Thank you for your patience!
