Hi everyone. I have a great idea for the next Luxor hopefully being released in 2010 and I wanted to see what you think of it. I thought that in this new Luxor game, you can build your own levels/create your own paths. You could place the pyramid anywhere you want. Choose from a variety of Egyptian backgrounds to use. And when you're done with your creation, of course, play your level, like classic Luxor. You could not possibly ever get bored with a game like that, since you can make the levels look how ever you want them to and then play them. How cool would that be? Now, I don't know if a Luxor game like that is possible to make. They made the last Luxor a hidden object game. This time they can make it a tycoon/simulation game. If it doesn't work as a full game, it could be a new game mode in the next Luxor. If at least one person can reply and tell me if this is a good idea, that would be great. I do agree, it would be a lot of work, but I would love to see a Luxor like that sometime. Thanx.

    Hey Luxorfan,

So far, i don't remember playing any casual game which allows users to create and edit their own levels. To allow users to edit levels might require game engine modifications. MumboJumbo (MJ) might be unwilling or unable to do this for the time being. As we know Luxor 4 was released with bugs, and was very similar in design to Luxor 3. Perhaps MJ might lack the resources to accomodate such a change or they feel that this might not sell.

Also, the Luxor games have always been collections of levels made by the designers, although at least two of the games, namely Luxor Amun Rising and Luxor 4, involve a simple story or plot. If users create levels, it might detract from the plot. Speaking for myself, when I play a casual game I do not want to worry about creating the entire stage or level. I just want to get right in and destroy spheres. When I play the Luxor series I get the satisfaction of playing simple arcade action games. If I want level creation, I would be looking for a simulation like game such as one of the tycoon games.

I don't think many people actually come to this forum instead of visiting other forums, and users actually post only when they have problems, so do not be disheartened if you do not get replies to a suggestion topic like this. I'm sure one of the designers would reply to you if they happen to see your post.

    Happy Gaming,

    Brownkitty

Thanks for responding, Brownkitty. I do agree and understand that it would be hard to make a game like that, but maybe it could be a game mode, if possible. You know that Luxor and Luxor Amun Rising had very basic layouts, with simple backgrounds and paths drawn over them. Maybe if there was ever a create your own Luxor game, it could be as easy as that. It doesn't have to be anything fancy. However, I do doubt that MJ would make a game like that, and you're right, there aren't any casual games that are of simulation type, but I just like to see what people thought of this idea. Even if you think that it's not the best idea, that's fine and I'm glad you wrote. I hope that you're as excited for another Luxor this year as I am. Thanks again.

So, I really think that would be very nice if MJ develop a game like that...

And also, if they don't make this happen, they would do just one thing: don't repeat levels in the game, because that's so flat and boring.

And finnaly, they would do new graphics!
